Custom hand processing is available. Processes available are carding into roving, carding into batts, and spinning. Please keep in mind that hand carding and spinning produces a different feel to the yarn than machine processed wool.
If fleece requires an extra wash it is $10.00 per pound.
Carding
If you would like fleece carded into batts the price is $20.00 per pound.
If you would like fleece carded into roving the price is $15.00 per pound.
The yield for carded wool is about half a pound. Carding removes remaining VM from the fleece as well as ends that are damaged or brittle and unwanted shorter fibers.
Pencil Roving
Pencil Roving can be done and plyed with thread if you so choose. The plying is $10.00 per pound (of incoming fleece)
Spinning
I generally spin 2 ply yarns. Extra plys can be requested for an additional charge.
Spinning for Bulky weight is $30.00 per pound (of incoming fleece) the yield is a half a pound or 8 ounces. This would be 4/ 2oz. skeins.
Spinning for DK weight yarn is $40.00 per pound (of incoming fleece) the yield is a half a pound or 8 ounces. This would be 4/ 20z. skeins.
Spinning for worsted weight yarn is $35.00 per pound (of incoming fleece) the yield is a half pound or 8 ounces. This would be 4/ 2oz. skeins.
Dyeing
If you are interested in having your wool dyed it is $10.00 per pound (of incoming fleece) again the yield is half a pound.
